Visiting for the First Time?

We realise that coming to a new church for the first time can be daunting, and so to make it as easy as possible here are some practical things to know:

WORSHIP

We suggest arriving around 8:45am. If you are driving, there is plenty of free parking on a Sunday. There will be someone to greet you at the main entrance.  Please let them know that you are visiting or if this is your first time at Bangsar Gospel Centre.   They will be on hand to direct you to the right place and answer any questions you might have.

The service starts at 9:00am. We begin with around 15-20 minutes of singing and praise led by a worship leader and backed by a band of musicians.  We sing both modern contemporary songs and beloved traditional hymns.  This is followed by about 30 minutes of open worship during which brothers are encouraged to lead the congregation through the sharing of a word of encouragement, a reading from the bible, a choice of a song or in prayer, as they are so inspired by the Holy Spirit.

COMMUNION

This culminates with the communion service involving  the breaking of bread and the sharing of the cup which is done to remember in worship what the Lord Jesus did for all mankind.  If you are a baptised believer or you regularly participate in this remembrance in your own church, you are most welcome to partake of the emblems of the bread and the wine.  If, however, you are not in the practice of doing so or unclear about it, we would ask you to just pass the emblems on to the next person.

At this time, an offering is taken up. It’s an opportunity to make an offering back to God and to support the work of the church. However, we DON’T expect our visitors to make any contribution to this; so please let the collection bag pass you by without any embarrassment.

TEACHING

The meeting continues with a time of teaching, where one of our leaders (or someone invited by them) will preach from the Bible,  in a way that is inspiring, instructive, edifying and relevant, explaining the depth and wonder of the good news of Jesus Christ, as revealed in God’s Word.  The service ends at about 11.00am with announcements of future church meetings and activities.

FELLOWSHIP

After the service, stay around for some fellowship over some refreshments provided.
